This is a 4 track recording that Ben set up one night at The Loading Dock in 2015 or 16. He used some mics we had laying around, one on the bass, guitar and two on the drums. Recently I have been going through my cassettes and listening to which ones warble and which ones have held up over time. Theres a pile of cassettes with no label or cover, no information. I put this on in the middle and really wasn't sure what it was. At first I thought it was an old Grateful Dead bootleg! Sorry Nick. Rewinding to the beginning I was sure it had to be Nick's playing, his open ending phrasing unmistakable and Ben's insistent bass playing... I knew what I had on my hands. The lost Experimental Forest 4 track! The three tracks are segments of one long improvisation, meant to be experienced as a whole. The recording caught us at a time when we were just getting going, we didn't have a name and hadn't played for anyone yet.
